Default Looking for descent Reverb

Hello, I was using FL Studio for a long time and now I switched to Reaper. In FL Studio there was a great out of the box "homemade" Reverb VST from FL itself(Fruity Reverb). It sounded amazing with many options and settings(Cut Low Frequ. & my favourite one was the Dry setting). Even the biggest producers prefer this Reverb over the expensive Professional-VST's. Now I tested the Reaper Reverb and it is very bad. I'm using Reverb mostly for synths, never for drums etc.. I do not want spend money in expensive Reverb VST's. Do you know anything, maybe a free VST that sounds great for Reverb? Thx!

Reaverb can sound ok with the right impulses loaded etc. but Reaverbate is a bit basic.
As with most things audio, it all boils down to personal taste & context, but i like (in no particular order) - OrilRiver, Sanford, the Signaldust ones, AmbientReverb (Stone voices), Dragonfly, OldskoolVerb - there are loads of good freebies

ReaVerb with a wad of impulses.
If you want impulse responses I have a pretty large collection, that is all I use now.

Same here. Grab the first impulse that sounds closest to what you have in your head at the moment. Put a ReaEQ before and/or after it. Quick easy perfect.

Some people are using other reverb plugins to host IR's because they offer other features like handling true stereo or quad with a single instance of the plugin whereas ReaVerb needs multiples. Moot point if you're keeping it simple and not doing that.

The free Samplicity IR's are a good place to start.

Dragonfly is a great sounding reverb.

The free OrilRiver sounds exactly like FL Studio´s Reeverb and Reeverb 2 with a similar feature set and very light CPU usage...:

For me it´s easily the best free reverb plugin!!!
