Default Copy Select Midi Events To Another Track

Hello Fellow Reaper Enthusiasts - here's what I'm trying to do:

I have a project that is using EZDrummer and sending everything (drums) to separate tracks.
The snare drum has 2 outputs (channels) Snare Top and Snare Bottom.
I love the snare drum sound on the drum I'm using BUT the cross-stick is weak.

I want to assign a different cross-stick sound while still using the snare drum I have.
I think I need to set up another track and have that track also use the EZDrummer VST and then use a different snare drum that has a cross-stick I like.

Can I copy just the cross-stick midi events (I believe its C2#) and past that into a new track?

I'm thinking I'd them mute all of the cross-stick midi events from my original drum track (leaving just the snare events) and have just the cross-stick midi events on it's own track.

Does this make sense?

Is there a better way to do it?

Do I need another instance of EZDrummer on the new track just to trigger the cross-stick of is there something built into Reaper that I can use to trigger a sample?

Once I get this all figured out, I output stems as wav files.

THANKS in advance to all who are willing, and able, to help me out.

All the best!
