Free Reaper Tutorials
Hi all,
I'm in the process of creating a range of Reaper tutorials covering some techniques that help speed up your workflow.
The first 2 have been uploaded today and cover the following:
1. Project Templates
2. Track / instrument templates.
Both are available on my YouTube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...lvmUFuF8lWX-o8)
Lots more to come over the next few weeks, along with a range of other tips, tricks & guides.
Please check them out and if you have any suggestions for future tutorials, please let me know
Regards

Hi Paul & Welcome
Tutorial's are pretty well covered in Reaper but you're on the right track I think with showing some basic 'How's
Just saw this thread= http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=154705
& it's quite common, there's a lot to take in when first starting' also using the gtr tuner & setting a high-pass on the EQ,,things like that?
Just suggestions you might consider?

Cheers Jiff (and hello to another Welshie)
Good suggestions, and areas I will more than likely cover. My aim is to offer regular tips and tricks along with longer and more detailed tutorials on specifics (like recording, mixing, etc) over time.
I found that during my early stages of working with Reaper that other than the Groove3 tutorials by Kenny Gioia that the tutorials were kind of sporadic and disjointed, so took a fair bit of digging around to find the gems
Regards
Paul

Tutorials, midi, frustration!
Hi,
I have been utilizing a fully personally licensed copy of Reaper for over a year now and it amazes me.
I am no a musician, nor am I a midi wizard. I'm an oldster and had one of the first Apple ][ computers, so my exposure to midi goes WAY back.
I have been challenged trying to get voice changes to work. Here's the scenario: Older Roland digital piano, Mio interface, and I am able to successfully record the midi into a track, save it, and play it back, routing the playback through to synthesizer software on pc as output, or routing Channel 1to the Mio for output to get the piano to play. So good so far.
Copy and paste track 1 to track 2, insert FX, reabank, choose set of voices, select orchestral strings, route second track to Channel 2 out to Mio, save project, play to Mio. Second track still plays on Roland KR75 as piano. Went through piano documentation. Cannot find anything there about receiving channel settings.
Driving me crazy. This is for a non profit nursing home. Little budget for a live pianist every week.
More to the point of the thread: we need some really good, basic, simple tutorials for totally ignorant newbies to explain and demonstrate these basics. I have the hard copy of the user manual. The sub folder concept explanation on the tracks makes my eyes glaze over. The concept is NOT clear, not understandable to a beginner at all.
Reaper is an amazing software work. It deserves far better documentation and tutorials than are out there. If you are an accomplished musician and techie, or extremely experienced as a recording engineer, you may be extremely comfortable with it. I'm none of those even though I have worked with audio for 50 years and microcomputers for 38 years.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Help!
