Solved - Music on a USB stick question
I have several devices that can play music that is put on USB stick, but they all have a strange limitation they only will play the first 16 selections the only device that can play all selections is the computer. Is there some logical reason for this limitation?
Thanks for your response.

Are you recording multiple selections as a single group or individually.

Sounds like a limitation of the players, since it's fine in your PC. 16 is surprisingly low, though, I'd expect at least 255, since that's 8 bits.
What devices are they?
If you put files 17-32 in a separate folder, do they play?
How is the USB device formatted? (FAT, FAT32, exFAT, NTFS, etc)

I tried the USB port on my audio amplifier, the USB port on our smart TV, my cellphone & tablet they all did the same thing would not play beyond the first 16.
I checked the formatting it is FAT the default for USB that win 10 does I guess.
What format would you suggest?
Thanks for your response.

If I put files in a folder they are not seen by my amplifier.

Mp3?
Are we talking about mp3 files and if yes, are they decoded in variable bit rate?
