Default Can't get any sound from Macbook Pro M1

Hi, Reaper newbie here,

I just downloaded Reaper on my 2021 Macbook Pro 16" 16GB Monterrey 12.6, Apple M1 Pro.

I just can't get any sound from Reaper through my computer's speakers.
The speakers work great in any other app
I've dropped an mp3 piano song in an armed track, playing it shows activity in the peak meter, but again, no sound at all.

In my preferences : Audio : Devices : I selected my mac speakers, ticked the boxes "request sample rate" (set to 48000) and "request block size" (set to 512).

Does anyone know what else I could try to get sound from my mac speakers in Reaper ?

Have a good day,

Uj

Have you tried 44.1KHz to see if it is a sample rate issue?

Default solution

I just found the solution ! not Mac related.

I clicked the "route" button on screen on one of my tracks, a windows showed up on screen. There was a "Audio Hardware Outputs" section, I cliked "Add new hardware output" and selected "Output1 / Output2" which represents my mac speakers.

Now it works !
