Default Looking for a Linux native equiv to Aphex Aural or BBE Sonic Maximizer

When it comes to adding brightness without ear splitting sibilance, I've always loved the Aphex Aural Exciter or BBE Sonic Maximizer. In an nutshell, what they do is boost the top end based on the amount of mid-range frequencies.

Do any of you know of a native LV2/VST equivalent for Linux?

It's one of the last pieces of the puzzle in my move from Windows/Pro Tools to Linux/Reaper.

There might be more, or even better plug-ins, but I did find this one quite quickly. Hopefully it is what you’re looking for:

There’s one or two here that look like they might work as well:

Thanks. This looks very promising. A quick listen confirms it does what I want. I'll need to use it on a session to see how it holds up over time.

Also an excellent option.

It's so funny. I thought I was screwed when I started my search for an exciter plugin, but I already have two great options.

Yeah, there is a surprising amount of options in Linux Audio. Here is one more exciter, a JSFX from Tukan. The "Tukan Exciter with Big Bottom" has a really flexible exciter. I use it with the "Big Bottom" disabled. The Thread is here: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=260754 and the Tukan plugs are also in ReaPack.

As others have said, Tukan makes some great sounding plugins.

Damn. I already have Tukan installed, but didn't notice that exciter plugin. Thanks.

Re-Install the Distressor clone he created, he fixed all bugs and added some new options to it and it sounds great.

BTW if you need some nice plugins ported to JS, download all Sonic Anomaly plugins they are great specially:
- Bass professor I & II (Bass processor)
- Transpire (Transient designer)
- Slax (LA2A compressor)
- Leet Delay (Delay)
- Unlimited (Master Limiter)
