I just bought a Desktop PC just so I can use the klinke again
My old PC died about 9 months ago so I switched to using my MacBook pro for mixing and recording at home. After many hours of trying to get my xtouch to behave with CSI and various others I can't do it anymore. Klinke is superior in every way for my work, at least at this point.

CSI is actually pretty great.
I'm sure with some more work on my end I could probably get it pretty close to how I want it to work. But with the way Klinke handles folders and customizing of the Action mode, quick jump and anchor tracks, It's almost perfect for how I work and it's all ready to go with minimal fiddling.

Thanks for you opinion.
Just start to study CSI for couple of days. I'll do more tests. For now, it's useful!
You could custom your configuration files. I'm using the Behringer X touch which i could make full of it.

I'm on PC with X-Touch. Moved completely from Klinke to CSI a few weeks ago. At first I was very lost with CSI, but got help from the forums and now it does anything I want for my basic needs and some more. Just mapped bunch of Actions to buttons and with Shift I have done more to same buttons too. Still learning for advanced stuff. I love how selecting track from Reaper automatically switch banks and tracks. I could not get Klinke to do that and it drove me crazy.

Forgive me, but what is CSI?
I have a Xtouch as well and would be interested in the topic.
Thanks.

I stumbled across this in the forum today.
I have a b behringer x-touch and it works really well for me with klinkes adaption for MCU.
As Klinke kind of stopped updating I am always eying on an alternative that comes around.
Do you use the CSI with a X-touch of any kind?

No, haven't tried CSI myself, yet. And don't have a X-Touch, either

You must enable the "Follow Reaper" option for the Pan-/Action-Mode (press "Shift+Option" while you are in one of this modes and then you can change the setting with the VPots).

If you really want to donate something: I prefer dark beer ;-) You can find the donate button in the Control Settings dialog, or just go to Paypal, my account is klinkenstecker@gmx.de . But I appreciate kind words as much as a donation.

Then I will do both.
The Klinke extension made and still makes such a huge difference for me when mixing.
Not a pro here (but advanced and ambitioned hobbyist) but to get grips at your music ist what makes it feel musical.
From that angle, you helped me make better music.
This is well worth a beer or two, despite I have to say that I would prefer blond beer.
I am not into programming, but to make such an elaborate manual alone is such a lot of work (and hopefuly fun).
Your extension for all the Mackie Controllers and X-Touches out there (hobby budget) is such a gem.
Thank you very much.

Wow, thank you TheWhistler. Btw. I started to use Reaper again (in the last years I mainly played live using Usine and an own developed Looper) and I'm sometimes surprised myself about all the details I implemented. You can tell I was a single back then ;-) But enough of the kind words from me to me.

Good to hear you are back into Reaper.
This could mean you have an eye on this already very useful baby.
Not asking for updates, mind you.
Donation is on the way

Thanks for the donation. And I already started to work on a new version some weeks ago, which will mainly target the Icon ProX hardware, as I switched to such a thing. But it will also incl. send automation, this is already implemented and needs only some more finetuning.

Hm, I have a Behringer X-Touch which works with your fabulous Mackie adaption.
Will the compatibilty stay with the Mackie standard?
The feature you mentioned (send automation) what is this?
I personally use the folder structure heavily because I work with a Cello player who loops tracks over tracks for orchestral arrangements.
So I would not be able to organize my tracks like I do without your Mackie adaption and the folder integration.
This is a life saver - really.
I hope I can ask you something.
I have a random problem that started a few weeks ago and occurs more often in the last past days.
My Notebook (which is rock solid on Win10) loses USB devices in Reaper and the X-Touch stops working.
It is not just the X-Touch I have Midi interface and some Elektron devices.
I have deactivated all the energy saving stuff on the USB bus (in device manager and the OS energy settings).
Sorry for penetrating you with that, but maybe you have guess.
I hope you are an expert....

Yes, also future version will fully support the Mackie Control standard, the Icon ProX support can be activated by a setting in the Control Surface dialog, but without everything works as before, and future developments will also consider the original Mackie Control (the main difference is anyway only the second display of the ProX).
Send Automation will allow to use the different Automation Modes like Latch, Write ... also for the Sends and Receives, not only for the Volume of the channel. I think this is the most requested feature.
As for USB, unfortunately I'm not an expert on that, I wish I was. Then I might better understand my own problems with it, I'm also struggling with my Electra. One not working properly (I suspect it's either the USB hub or the cable lengths).
