Default SWS - copying/pasting effects doesn't work with certain plugins

you can check out the prerelease discussion here:

https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=214605

basically there is a certain type of plugin which is treated differently by reaper and really shouldn't be pasted into a track which has a different waveform than the first.

It causes a freeze.

is there any way to exclude a plugin from copying and pasting? This is a function I used quite often and, I also use the plugin in question somewhat often, as well.

I tried putting the demo version of Melodyne (player mode) on track with an audio item, ran "SWS/S&M: Copy FX chain from selected track" followed by "SWS/S&M: Paste FX chain to selected tracks" on a new track. It didn't freeze here. Is there some other step I need to do to trigger the issue?

If you're on Windows, it might help to get a dump file created while it's frozen (from the task manager) using this build: https://cfillion.ca/files/sws/2.9.8-...aper_sws64.dll.

Does it work if you use the built-in FX copy/pasting instead of SWS?

you need to use an ARA2 enabled version of Reaper, The latest melodyne, and the VST3 version
