I actually thought it was funny but you do have to be careful.
I once made a Pro Tools tutorial of a feature called Track Preset where it basically behaved like Track Templates or FX Chains in Reaper. I used fancy editing to make it appear that it was real. It started out as a "here is what I wish we had" and turned into my inbox full of people asking me why they couldn't get it to work on their systems.
Of course that feature still doesn't exist.

Dual 25" monitors installed and working. Hmmm, wonder why I did that...
I have a feeling something good is going to happen soon.

Well this thread does seem to have mutated into the cloud cuckoo land, neverneverland make-believe world of themers, doesnt it?
What are we all going to do once WT finally publishes?>

Discover that we are still sitting in front of a DAW with zero original creative ideas and then start hitting F5 again on the next theme?
I jest, of course.

Guys post please your resolution capacity. Inch means nothing.
I have 23" monitor and it works in 1920 x 1080.

This is what I am curious about, will the theme work in 1920 x 1080?
That is surely what the vast majority of people will be running.

Just to be clear: this is a real, working theme. People have been using it, for real work in some very real places, for months. In this case, however, I'm not going to release to this forum till its finished, because it seems better suited to that approach. Recent text theming developments mean there will be a new delay on the release of the theme, though I shall not be reworking all the knobs. Some new grooviness is just too tempting to leave out!
A bit of history: - Many aeons ago I sketched a mixer and built it into a quick theme to demonstrate a few things in the new WALTER, and released it. Just a few hours work.
- People seemed to like it, both here and *cough* at other companies (Nah ).
- People made threads asking for it to be worked on.
- In February of this year I cleared some time and started a from the ground up rebuild and put the first screen shots up in this thread, and posted new screenshots of new stuff as it was done.
- I found the thread was contrary to productivity, so I took down the pics and locked the thread.
- People made threads asking for it to be worked on.
- I reopened the thread but am not posting any updated screenshots.
- I got some great new testers who pointed out a great number of little problems. Excellent stuff, and I'm working my way through them. I've also got a huuuuuge number of feature requests, which I'm doing a few of.
- There is now new coolness that I want to integrate into the theme.
All the while, off and on, I've just been working away. At each and every stage there been at least someone criticising me for whatever action I was taking at that point, so clearly that's unavoidable. But I'm just making a theme here, it just happens to be a massive task which I want to get right - so that takes a lot of time and reserves of will. My inability to please all the people all the time is ...well look, I'm just getting on with it. The time taken is entirely a measure of the amount of work and my willingness to get it right. I hope we can all agree that's a worthwhile thing
I'm not looking for any more testers, but thanks. On a side note, I'd guess over 50% of the people I've taken on as testers have just grabbed the theme file and buggered off, never to be seen again, which is ...disappointing. Understandably, their murders have been arranged...

H Ha! Gotcha!
Seriously, I fully understand the situation, WT.
Shame about the so-called beta testers, but that IS the way of these things.
I was involved in Beta for a UK company a year or so ago and despite very careful vetting of who they chose, apparently they had a huge drop out rate when people realised they had to actually do some work to qualify for their "free" plugins.
More of the teenage boy collecting every cracked programme they can syndrome I guess, but it IS a shame.
Right now I am waiting to see if Albert beats you to it - his latest theme is getting scarily good looking AND ergonomic as far as I can see.

I've been following the thread, and the theme looks (even in it's early stages) great. I totally understand where you are coming from. I make my living as a graphic designer. I've been in the industry a long time, and there are usually a lot of chefs in the kitchen, and you can't please them all 100%. The one thing that the people here (especially the hyper critical ones) need to understand (and I think the majority of them do understand)is the following:
This is NOT design by "committee". This is a project that you have taken on yourself, for FREE, for the good of the Reaper community. The job you're doing is excellent, and your attention to detail is impeccable, as usual. This will take time to finish. As for the people who clamored for the theme and took the files... well that's just bad Karma, and they will get theirs in the end.
so here is my big thanks, and I'm really looking forward to the final product.
