Constant hum or changing?

If you unplug monitors do you hear it on headphones connected to 2i4?

Are you using balanced cables from 2i4 to monitors?

It might be any of a number of things, but try moving each item, mostly the laptop and the interface, slowly to a few inches away and rotating in another direction. If anything gets better, that's good. It means the buzz has to do with something's proximity to something else and you can make it go away. Household electricity in lights and large appliances are often culprits, but there are usually bad spots to be in and better spots noise wise. The same way an electric guitar's pickup might be making such noise through an amp but moving a foot and rotating around makes it go away.

What stella645 said.

If there is no noise through headphones, then the output from the scarlett is clean, and the noise is due to the connection between the speakers and the audio interface, which leads to his second question, are you using balanced cables.

Is this noise there with nothing plugged into the inputs of the scarlett?
