Default Alice In Chains - Man in the box guitars

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a cheap bandpass-filter option to dial in guitar sound for specific frequencies. I need the signal just as a preview for dialing in the sound, I plan on recording the raw fullrange signal and bandpassing it later in the DAW.

As I am nit experienced with hardware-solutions my first thought was to buy a graphic EQ. Since I only need a flexible high- and lowpass-filter I suppose a graphic EQ is not the ideal solution. Any idea what gear to get for this?

What I want to do is to record every guitar with three amps seperately, each for another frequency spectrum.

If I'm not mistaken, Dave Jerden recorded "Alice in Chains - Man in the Box" them like this:

Ohz-150hz/200hz
150hz/200hz-(<=)6khz
(<=)6khz-xkhz

Since his explanation is not clear, a conformation would be much appreciated.

Also would it be advisable to cut off the bassguitar off form 150/200hz onwards.

Thanks in advance

Cheers
