Splitting midi items sometimes causes note view to jump/scroll

With 6.58, OS X. Creating new items on midi track by splitting sometimes causes notes in new item to visually jump to new scroll position so that it looks as if they've changed notes though that isn't the case. It's just a visual thing; the notes are still the same/correct but they look to be transposed to wrong notes. Why would splitting an item cause its view to shift up or down, giving the impression that the note was transposed? Even controller data that was smooth looks changed at the split, even though it is not.

Kind of surprised this doesn't bother anyone, if it happens to them. Does it not? Consistent here.

The notes in the view after the split are incorrect notes as lined up with the rest of the track, as if transposed, though the correct notes are still played. Leave the view and zoom back to where you were and they return to being a visual of the correct notes. Until this is done, the notes are displayed as different notes than they are.
