Default Volume automation on a track - Reverb affected

I have a synth on a track with volume automation

i've put reverb on it as well with a separate plugin on same track

but

i don't want the reverb to be affected by the volume automation,

how do i do this?

thanks!

I think you would have to put the Reverb on a separate track and send to it pre fader

Easier, use the pre-fx volume envelope, that's exactly what it's purpose is.

Very cool. I didn't know that existed

If the synth is a VSTi, this will do nothing. If it’s an audio item on the track, it’ll still affect the reverb.

But surely that would affect the volume going into the reverb and therefore also coming out?

I'd go along with what Coachz suggested ...

What's the reason behind wanting the reverb on the same track as the source?
Making a send to a dedicated reverb track is the easiest way to mix. You just grab the faders and make the balance you want to hear. There are no 2 or 3 step moves (like adjusting a wet/dry balance and then having to readjust the overall level of that).

I'd need some benefit from stacking everything up in one track that outweighed the PITA factor of mixing with that.

My 2c.

There could easily be a reason if this is for a live performance rig where you're going after the ease of a single control and the initial balances inside the plugins and routing never get changed.

But if there's no good reason to need everything crammed into a single track, I'd suggest it would be a PITA to do that.
