Default How do you customise your keyboard shortcut on REAPER?

With the abundance options to personalise workflow, does anyone choose to use the Default REAPER keymap straight right of the box?

Is REAPER your first DAW?

Do you adopt/translate keyboard shortcut from your previous/other DAW to REAPER?

Some actions are default, but I have partly overriden my keymap.

No. My first DAW was FL Studio. It didn't/doesn't allow for such a great customization as Reaper does.

No. I'm completely free to choose what keys to use.

Thanks!

I believe eventually most user will override the Default keymap. It’s just the REAPER way, we always have options which also sometimes could be overwhelming. But i’m curious if i’m wrong, whether a lot of user happy with REAPER straight right of the box.

Reaper is not my first DAW. I started with Cakewalk/Sonar/Cakewalk by BandLab many years ago. But due to Cakewalk starting to act quirky lately, I decided to give another DAW a try. I chose Reaper about 3 weeks ago and haven't looked back.

The only change I made in the default key shortcuts was using the "R" key to record. I found it uncomfortable to use the default "control, R" to do so.

Set a few Cubase keymap overrides to help a collaborator who couldn't shake his Cubase habits.

Some are useful - e.g. 'p' to set time selection/loop markers to selected items, is great (though I'm sure something other then 'p' would be more intuitive...)

I also swapped Show Mixer <ctrl+m> with Create Marker <m> as I kept accidentally creating markers when fishing for the mixer : )

I only ever change default key mappings for those actions that I know I never use, reassigning them to other actions or macros that I do use.

That keeps me as much as possible in sync with menus, manual, etc.
