Default Anyone using Knifonium? CPU hit that bad?

I heard Knif Audio's Knifonium and was mightily impressed. It's now up on Plugin Alliance for $29 (with "MEGA-SALE-20OFF" entered at checkout) so it's very tempting, but seeing some chat about the CPU hit being huge. Couldn't tell from the place I heard it as he's got a maxed out rig, which I...um, don't.

Wondering if anyone is using it on any Intel MBP or similar and if the CPU hunger is a borderline dealkiller. There are a few ways to lower it, but by their description would lessen its great 'analog' quality, so I'm thinking of with at default, not with low CPU settings.

Thanks!!!

Well, I picked it up and it sounds pretty damn great. Haven't had a chance to push its limits to check, but with two instances in a reasonable project it's a next level plugin, at least for me.
