Default Free SVT Plugin From Plugin Alliance

I've always love the sound of an SVT through an 8x10 cab! Just enter AMPEG-FOR-FREE in the coupon voucher field.

AMPEG SVT-VR CLASSIC

Great! I can never have too many free plugins!

In high school, when my Univox 4x10 cabinet went into the shop for repair, they lent me an Ampeg 8x10 cabinet, and gave me the SVT amp to use with it (even though I could have used my Univox amp head).

It was prestigious to have an 8x10 cabinet for a while, but it was a pain to get to a gig. I loved the sound of my Univox, so I was happy to get it back and give up the 8x10.

Now I can relive those days with this plugin, and not have to strain my back getting it to a gig!

It does a beautiful job too - Crank up the lows to get that lovely ampeg buttery bass.

GREAT for reggae!

You have to activate it with your account. Once you do that, then it is free forever.

Already have the full SVT-VR plugin (the free one is basically one channel from that one). It is the perfect rock bass tone and goes on almost every mix I do. It's amazing.

I installed this, "authorized" it...and still says trial. I have many Plugin Alliance plugins, and have never had a problem. Maybe their server is catching up....

Did you put AMPEG-FOR-FREE in the coupon voucher field?

Just gave this a try. Worked fine with online authorization, so it might be working for as well again.

I am such a dope sometimes... Yes, I entered the coupon...but I also installed both versions...One of which is not free. Duh...it's all good now.

you have to 'buy' it and put in the coupon at sale.

Thanks for the heads up on this. Downloaded and playing around with it today and really liking the way things set in the mix with it.

My only experience with Ampegs is the folding BX15 in studios and a reverberocket that I bought in Nashville back in the 80s & wish I had never sold, so this should be interesting... Thanks for the coupon & recommendation.

Edit: Just started using it & this is one of the best bass amp sims I have found. Especially for that SVT 8x10 sound

Awesome thanks. It sounds really good. My template bass track has like 5 plugs on it and the SVT just replaced them all.

Love this with my `62 P-Bass reissue... Sounds like I did back in the early days.

I am now getting tempted to actually pay for the full monte.

It sounds great! The best thing I had been using to treat DI bass was Bass Professor Mk II, but this seems to bring something else to the table (maybe I've just been faffing too much with Bass Professor's 7-band EQ).

Me too. Did them side by side & frankly it leaves BP Mk1 and Mk2 in the dust for me. I had been using Mk.1 a fair bit uptill now...

Did you install the PA software manager app?

This is a test of the Reaper forums overlord system... I put up a few more posts in this thread that didn't extoll the virtues of the rigamarole you had to go through and the 150 limited plugs with nag screens that were installed in Reaper.

They disappeared for some reason.

If this one disappears too I'll take my toys and go home.

Never mind... apparently there is no Reaper overlord, but there are idiots running around in the wrong threads. I'm like that guy who misplaces his coffee cup and assumes it was stolen.

No I did not. A bit more than leery of "software manager" installers and whatnot. What else do they install? A horrid experience with Waves Central cured me of that. Sure I'm being ridiculously paranoid but I'm so over all these free VST's where all of a sudden you first have to install this than that. A simple dll is all you need. End of rant. Sorry

I didn't see where their manager was necessary but more just a convenience. Probably misunderstood. I didn't get as far as dl'ing anything. Seemed like you needed to "buy" the thing, put the voucher code in the proper place. In the past these sites usually show the price then the discount final cost. Instead it sent me to Paypal where they were going to charge me $49. I stopped right there. Tried it a couple more times thinking maybe I missed something somewhere but always ended up the same. Others here don't seem to be having this issue so obviously I'm doing something wrong. Admittedly I'm old and easily confused.

Anyway, thanks for your reply Magicbuss

How does this compare to the Amplitube's SVT?

In bright mode with ultra low on and 8x10s sounds great. Run through gullfoss at 15 tame tightens the bottom and gets rid of tubbiness. Run through a leveler makes bass guitar really excellent

I find that a 5km walk each day achieves the same thing...
