Default Akai MPD218 won't remember mapping

So I've had an Akai MPD218 for just over a year or so, and for some reason, it no longer remembers the MIDI map that I just loaded. It used to work fine, but no longer.

Any ideas on how to reset it in Reaper so it holds the MID mapping that I load?

I'd put ReaLearn on the monitoring chain and set up your mappings there. Much easier and more flexible. Just remember that chain has no undo so backup your work with presets or something.

Maybe you've changed what program is selected in the MPD218, or if you custom programmed the pad controller, and that patch is selected, maybe the unit got reset somehow.

I use the Akai MPD26, and custom programmed the first five or six patches on it, then backed the unit up with software it came with.

Yeah, I still can't get this thing to "remember" a preset. I load it, send it to the hardware, but as soon as I open Reaper, it forgets and reverts to a preset that must somehow be locked into Reaper. Is there anyway I can get Reaper to "forget" or "unlearn" a connection to the MPD218?
