Default Windows 7 x64 - Firewire bus NOT present

I have a add-on pci firewire card on a eMachines / Acer ET1870 desktop pc .
Somehow there's no trace of firewire / 1394 - bus in dev management .
I've even tried installing the legacy driver - the install succeeds, but there's still no sign of firewire - bus .

I've checked in Speccy for the firewire - bus, but it's not there either .

I know the card is working for I grabbed it out of another pc, that is running Windows 11 and the card works in that pc as it should .

I'd like to get my DIGI002 rack installed and working .

Some help, Thank You .

Have you plugged in the 002?
Have you plugged in the 002 to the firewire card and turned on the 002 before you turned on the Computer? (try this)
It has been a while since I used mine I have a feeling they work but there
may not be any indication the firewire card is present.

Yes the DIGI002 is connected and powered on before turning on the pc .
I have tried both of the ports on both the DIGI002 as well as on both on the ports on the add-on card .

Hi Has your firewire card got a texas instrument chipset?
If it has not?
I know you had it working in windows 11 on another machine.
My 002 rack has no trouble with my windows 7 pro.
Hope you get it going

Reaper only sees the devices (end points) not the buses (such as USB, Firewire, Bluetooth, Ethernet, ...) Those are managed by the infrastructure system / OS.

Hopefully the unit is powering on completely and it's not a case of the 002 power harness manufacturing flaw. When these were new there was a spate of them that suddenly had issues being found by the computer. These were replaced when in warranty but I don't know if replacement harnesses still exist. Had two in the day and they both needed it.

Googling "Digidesign 002 harness" brings up info on this that you can use to determine if rings a bell with your problem or not.

Solved !!!

Put the pci - card in a different slot and this time I also connected the molex power cable to the pci -card . Funny it did not need that last one in the other pc .

Case closed now .

Thank You all .
