Hi,


I would like for there to be a way to create metadata templates, outside of Reaper, that can be imported into Reaper, as needed.


As it stands right now, all the information must be entered...much of it, manually.
In licensing, for example, this can take a while.
We have categories like, "keywords" which can be rather lengthy as they may have a few dozen words.
I would rather be able to create the information (in Excel, for example)...BEFORE I
have to actually type it all in.
That way, I can check the spelling, and make sure everything is correct before I make it permanent.
Also, a "excel" spreadsheet can be sent around to all the contributors, with the request to make sure the information is correct.



Also...
I need one metadata template to use for music I plan to license.
I need a much different metadata template for the video productions I do w/2 associates...

So, needing several different metadata templates, depending on the application, could be simplified if I didn't have to type it all in, before the final render.



I love that Reaper is working on doing Metadata, but it's got to be better than the free ones...and so far, it's not.
It's just got a mot more potential.

Head over to the Developer's Subforum, as something like this should be scriptable.

PS: you could also work with project templates. Enter the needed and recurring metadata into it before saving as project template.

I appreciate your "template" idea. Sounds like the best option...until a better one comes along, anyway.
