Default HELP: screen redraw issue?

still in my first reaper session, tracking is going well however this is happening

i have the bass guitar on track 7. i click on the FX enable button and it pulls up all the FX i have, very nice

however i selected an EQ and set it how i needed it then clicked X to close the window, when i did my whole mixer section deleted. then it switched part of the FX window to my first monitor on the bottom where the mixer would go if i had just one monitor. i click UNDOCK and it clicks it back up to the second monitor and i finally close it but now my fader section is in the first monitor on the bottom. i undock it again and it puts it back up into my second monitor on top where i had it??

this happens every time i open an FX

ok specs

dual monitors 21 inch DELL
Precision 390 DELL
3.2 PD
4 gigs RAM
audio tweaked

what is going on here??

also

on first monitor is ONLY the docker side

second monitor

on top 32 tracks stacked 16 each - 2 rows

under that is

routing matrix, big clock and CPU usage windows, transport is on top of the faders??

help!

i want to emphasize i am not complaining but i am trying to raise these issues i am having. when i closed reaper and saved my project ALL of my desktop icons started to flash one at a time very rapidly and i clicked start then shutdown and the whole PC crashed hard???

i really want to like reaper but unless i can get better peformance out of it or understand something better that i may be doing wrong i won't be able to use it

hey sam

you know me, i am not whining, i am just relating my real world experienc here. just in case anyone else is running into issues

i reinstalled my MOTU drivers have rebooted the PC and XT 3 times, and this second xt even though powered up and passing calibration fine will not work anymore in reaper.

i have taken it out and re added it in the control surfaces part of reaper 3 times also

i am doing a complete re install from scratch now to see what happens

by the way, the tracks sound great in reaper! no lie

I can't speak to the crashiness ... and no offense intended ... but are you maybe not seeing the tabs underneath the docker?

just stopped back on this computer asnd saw your post,

and let me be the first to admit when i am wrong

i could not see the tabs (never had them before, no excuse though) and when i did i figured it all out

the crash still happened but i am rolling along quite well now

sorry for all the panic, but all that happened in 15 minutes or so.

tracks still sound great, seeting up some aux's now etc

be back
