Pyramix 11
Well, I would not even exchange my Reaper against a free version of Pyramix... but one must recognize that it may be the more powerful DAW for multichannel audio.
There are a few things in this new version that I am starving to have in Reaper, like the VST Routing ! https://www.merging.com/products/pyr...g-view-availab Also, support to the Object Based Audio in v6 would be great ;-) https://www.merging.com/products/pyr...audio-definiti Since it is an open source format, I suppose that it will not be impossible ? |

Yes, it is possible, and extremely useful and certainly faster.
But in its current stage, the cells can be on or thru, not off, which makes some routings complicated. For example, I often have to add an empty column to block the signal to pass thru. But where this kind of view would be invaluable is for connecting several plugins in parallel, which I doubt is possible in Pyramix... |

Configuring plugin routing is something I find a tad cumbersome and sometimes frustrating in REAPER. However, I just found out about the following script which I haven't yet tried but am eager to install.
I'm hoping this provides some of the functionality we are seeking.... https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=209768

Yes, I have just found it too and tried : it is well done and has a great potential for parallel routings.
I must ask to have a possibility to NOT connect an output since it is the thing the standard matrix routing lacks. |

For those of us who are still trying to grasp all of the acronyms used in this area, this EBU.fr page might help:
http://aesfrance.info/les-dossiers-d...mment-pourquoi It's in French, but all video's are in English. Also, an English language version does exist. It might even be better, but it is login protected. Makes you wonder about openness...

Took me 3 days, but was worth it. I finally grok how ambisonic, surround and other things like object based audio come together. Before I wasn't able to grok that.
