Change Background Color and Peak Line Color of Items?

hi,

i can not find the proper way to change the default color of media items (recorded items & midi items).

when opening the theme developemet window i see "media item background".
that sounds right but it does not change it.

what is the thing i have to change / what am i doing wrong?

basically i want selected items to look exactly how unselected items look currently and vice versa.

I've managed to change them. But they're different and like you I want them the same.

Trouble is, I can't seem to locate the setting to change non selected media items!

I can change peaks and selected background, but can't find the one thing I wanna change!

You want Media Item Peaks in the theme tweak window.It's right below Media Item Background options.

You should also open Preferences (CTRL P) and scroll down to Appearance then Peaks/Waveforms. There are several settings there that you can check or uncheck under Custom Colors.

Some themes may have those options greyed out. You can fix that in the config file, but it means unzipping the theme.

That's the thing, I changed media item background for non selected item and it has no further effect.

Do you know why that would be?

Hmmmmm....you may have to unzip the theme and look for files called item_bg and item_bg_select or something similar. It's possible that's what the theme is using to determine the item background.

Worth noting I'm not a themer, just a theme hacker and there are probably users that can help you more.
