Default blueteeth...

thought I'd try out a bluetooth transmitter\receiver and bluetooth head phone set up... to replace the wired phones that a singer might use at the mic...

but very disappointed with the latency...

I got the Avantree Oasis Plus TC500P and a set of sennhieser phones for it

the sound is fine but even in the "LL" [low latency mode] there is a too noticeable lag in what you hear...

before I send it all back, I thought I'd check with ya'all for other opinions...

For the application you mentioned in your post it's most likely not a good choice for a Bluetooth headphones. There are other wireless headphones that would be a better fit. Bluetooth devices are primarily for children to play with instead of destroying the cords on their devices. Send it back or give it to your son or daughter.

The minimum latency on any BT device is 15 msec. I've been playing around with BT devices and that seems unavoidable. Plus the sound quality isn't exactly pristine either.

So, for studio applications, the motto still seems to avoid BT completely.

I’ve tried several devices with multiple bluetooth version none of them works as I expected. The latency is pretty bad.

Professional wireless UHF monitor is super expensive, which I don’t think it’s worth the price when it’s only used for tracking. I have luck with cheap wireless UHF monitor though. Not the best, but it works sufficiently better than cables for my needs.

If you are on Windows it might be complicated, disadvantageous or impossible to use as some A/D device (usually via ASIO) and a bluetooth device at the same time.

thanks all.... yes my conclusion is BT, even the low latency ones [Avantree] add too much to work for tracking... fuckshitdamn

oh well it was a nice dream to be free of one extra cord... but so be it

I do use ASIO of course an had no problem with the BT and ASIO working together... my ASIO latency can be set pretty low...but it is clearly the BT device that add more latency...

I see mentioned other wireless methods... can you point me to those?

Wireless in-ear stage monitors. Expensive.
Other analog wireless headphones. Not very expensive, but also not usually studio quality.
