Default Holly Molly!

http://www.s94641883.onlinehome.us/bass-synth-play.wmv (well under 1 MB WMV video, sorry for the quality but had to keep file size down).

That's a video of yours truly playing the Wusikstation VSTI WITH MY BASS GUITAR. I'm tripping.

Sorry for screaming, but I'm so excited at the possibilities. Even had a surprise when I put my hand away from the pickups.

Yeah, ok, it's not perfect, but I'm loving where this is going. More surprise like this please.

For those who might no know what I'm talking about, I chained the new Reatune plugin with the Wusikstation VSTI, so I'm in effect playing WS with the bass guitar. No MIDI were harmed in the creation of this clip.

Very cool, man! I've always lusted after a nice guitar synth system, cause I wanted to do this, but with really fast tracking, which I imagine no plugin can really have, given the audio driver's latency.

What I really want is to play crazy analog portamento leads from my VSTi's with my guitar. On the bright side, not having a guitar synth has made me a much better keyboard player.

Sorry about your coffee.

But I do envision, one day, to just play a bassline and get the MIDI recorded as well as the audio; then, bring the MIDI into a score editor and have instant notation without having to write anything. And all that with a mere 40 buck investment (plus the score editor, of course).

It act a bit weird right now, but just the fact that it works at all I find pretty exciting.

Yes, so many possibilities with just that little thing. It's not very reliable or stable right now, but I'm sure Justin and co. will sort it out in time. Then we'll all go "Remember what it was like when we didn't have Reatune?".
