Default Tap Tempo and Signature Changes

Hello,

Let's say have a track that has a few bars in 3/4 then goes to 4/4, and then to 7/4. Bpm should not change. The project is intended for live use. I create my project, and I have to pick a bpm for all those time signature changes. Then when I use the project for live performance I'd like to tap a tempo and have it set across all the changes, but then when I reach a change the tempo gets reset to the one I chose when creating the project.

Is there any way to let the tap tempo affect all the signature changes tempo?

Thank you

Get your tap tempo calculation in another project tab and then use the "adjust entire tempo envelope" action. There are other tempo envelope actions for modifying all the tempo markers, so you could just trigger them via shortcuts to adjust instead of tapping the tempo.

Not the smoothest, but I bet it could be scripted.

Thank you for the hints. I tried the solutions you suggested, but really during live performance the only chance I have to align the tempo of the project to something that's already being played it to tap. I guess I still have to do some digging but this might be currently impossible.

I discovered a bug while testing this: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread....40#post2355340

Hopefully could lead to a fix for your problem...

Well thanks for pointing to that post. I actually solved it by looking into your issue. It's kinda embrassing but I just didn't consider making a time signature change without setting the tempo.. Probably related to the fact that by default the "set tempo" box is flagged.

For me this works like I need, I'll look a bit into your other post and see if I can contribute.

Cheers

Yea I didn't know that was possible until now either. Glad it helped!
