Default Plugin Dilema

What are the possible reasons why Reaper will not recognize a plugin
that has been merrily inhabiting Reaper's VST path for years?

My situation>

1.I've built a new Win10 computer specifically for music production (It rocks).
2.Since re-arranging hard drives etc., I've had to change all my drive letters and
references for all programs.

I suspect an argument between a couple of plugins as they are loaded, but IDK.
This is really an out there question I know, but if you'd have fun adding in your valuable 2 cents worth, I'd really appreciate your knowledge.

As always, a fellow Reaperite,

You changed the drive letter for the drive where the plugin was originally installed? Then all bets are off, many plugins are very picky with where they are installed, they assume a specific file structure including the drive. Try re-installing the plugin in the place where it expects to be installed.

I almost exclusively use plugins that come without installer, exactly for this reason.

HI Fabian,

Thanks for your quick reply!!

You're so right. I should have thought of that.
I have re-installed many plugs to their default settings.

It now seems after clearing the cache and re-scanning, that
the plugin: reaper_host32 exe is hanging up my program....

Thanks again for trying my friend....
