Default Track templates when added only get added to current track view

I use "track views" to manage the different parts of my music when creating it and then when it's time to mix I have a single track view that I use for all the used tracks.

As a composer, my templates start out at about 475 tracks so I only want to see the tracks with data when it's time to mix and not all my other tracks they are empty.

I use track templates a lot to import multi-port VST instruments and my VEP tracks with lots of attached midi tracks.

This was started due to the high track count issues in reaper that I think Justin is starting to address now.

Using track templates has really been fantastic except for the fact that when I import a track template it will often show up in every track view.

If we could import track templates ONLY to the current track view that would be fantastic.

Thanks for listening.

+1 Yes.

This would be a big benefit, because every time I add a track I had to go
through every "track view" and had to remove that track there.

This feature would be important for maintaining the track overview.
In other DAWs (I know - some people don't like such comparisons) ...
In other DAWs you have to choose what type of track you wanna add:
Audio, Midi, Instrument, Group, etc - and thus the new track is
automatically added to that mixer-subgroup. In Reaper there is no
differentiation of track-types, and so we need another system to
maintain tidiness in the mixer. And that system is the "track views".

This is basically why I created the tracks tags panel in the Track Inspector script. The lates version even has automatic tagging for tracks with contents or with contents in time selection. Then you can show only that tag in tcp or in mixer or both. Or do more things with them.

I use SWS Snapshots "current visibility" option for track views with the actions "Show selected tracks, hide others" and "Snapshot current track visibility" to set up each view. It works well for me, but I'm not dealing with more than 40 or 50 tracks. Just my 2c

Thanks to you both. I will give both of these methods a shot and report my findings.
Thanks again.

+1, allow an option so new tracks are only added to the most recently-selected track view, not all of them!
