Default How do I start/stop playing tracks with midi?

Hello, I'm new to Reaper and using MIDI. I'm needing to send a Play/start track command to Reaper from a scheduler program. I can use MIDI, but I don't know what it is Reaper needs to see to perform this task? Is there a list of specific commands and related MIDI notes to execute them? Any help is appreciated.

This issue has been discussed in the "Live" subforum in several threads.

You can use any midi command, like a specific note, and make that note the trigger for the "Play/Stop"-Action in the Actions-Dialogue.
Just go to Menu->Actions->Show Actions List-> write "Transport Play" in the search field, select the action that sounds right... then, on the right next to "Shortcuts for selected action", click on the Add-Button, and then hit the Midi Key. That should do it
