Default Delay woes

I have done several multitrack recordings using Reaper. I have always let the recording track monitor along with the previous tracks. Everything lined up, there were no delays. The other day I pulled up Reaper to start a new recording, when to my surprise, there is a .25 delay when listening to the armed track. I snap, and then a quarter second later I hear the snap on the headphones. In Audacity, it does not happen. Until my recent project, it didn't happen in Reaper.

I use a Behringer UM2, and I just got a ZEDi10FX. Both interfaces have the same problem, both work fine with Audacity. This is making it impossible for me to use Reaper. Even if I mute the recording track, when I finish recording, it will be .25 seconds behind the other tracks.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am still using Reaper in evaluation mode.

There should be some useful info here in the top right of your Reaper window (or possibly elsewhere if you've fiddled with the layout)

Like this:

What does yours say?

Also, what kind of fx / vsti have you got on "previous tracks"? They could be introducing a bunch of latency.
