Round trip latency

Here are some actual measurements of round trip latencies from audio interfaces of various brands in 2020. Except one brand, most are quite close next to each other, so that most of them qualify for live usage. All around 5 ms is acceptable to be used, without complaints to be feared from percussion musicians.

The round trip latency was measured with an actual cable between sound output and mic input. This exhibits hidden buffers in the whole signal chain. This explains the huge difference in latency with identical ASIO-Buffer sizes from the different audio-interfaces.
