Default Mixer Selection Brightness?

Is there a way to adjust the selection of a mixer/slider panel so that it isn't so bright/white? See example below.

Okay, next question,

is this something you want to fix yourself?

And one more,

how much do you know about theme tweaking?

Sorry for all the questions. I wanted to understand your level of expertise with regards to theming before attempting to answer your question.

cheers
