Default Custom track colors?

I'm pretty new to Reaper, but I have a question.

Is it possible to make each track have a different color? Not just from a skin design standpoint, but more of a individual song workflow standpoint.

In Sonar and Cubase, I usually set drums to green, piano to red, etc. to help me find my tracks quicker.

Is this possible?

Yes, just select the Track and then select "Set selected track colors to custom color" or "Set selected track colors to random colors" from the Track menu.

http://documentwrite.com/reaper/index.html?track.htm

These options are also available by right-clicking on the Track Control Panel for the selected Track.

Cheers,

Malcolm.

Wow, and it looks beautious with the gradient on the track too!

Thanks for that tip!

Second question for you:
Is there any way to set up a custom template? So that when I start a blank project, every time I load new tracks track 1 will always start as green, track 2 will always start as blue, etc.?

Preferences > Project - allows you to use a project as a default template.

Thanks Art,

I knew I could make a template, I was just hoping there was a way to do custom colors when you're creating a project from scratch, as well. Maybe in a later update.
