Default Growing on me

Trying to make a beat from a sample on here now and yeah worked out how to cut the files up a bit and put them together. Just need to learn how to hard limit now and can't find that. Also how do basic fades on the end of each cut so no clicking is there then guess there isn't too much else for me to know as I'm not doing anything too intense. If I can get a few beats done and a fast work flow going then I will use it as my main DAW.

Se;ect item and press Shift E to open item FX window. Search for limit you'll find a selection.

But you don't hear clicking, do you? And that's because Reaper automatically creates a tiny fade (so quick you won't hear it) on either side of the split point. If you zoom in far enough, you'll see the fade. If you hover the cursor over the end of the item, a fade icon appears; grab that to move the beginning of a fade-out or the end of a fade-in. If you right click when that icon appears, you can shape the fade.

To add a fade: right-click the item and select Item Properties.

Or:

Details of both are in the User Guide.

Yeah got it looping nice now and the fade is fine. Still fucking horrible to cut compared to cool edit. The zoom in is just not clear and doesn't show the waves nice in my opinion.

Now I want to do a time change from 3.8 seconds but the program seems to insist on me quantizing everything. Have turned grids off but yeah I create my own rhythm and don't care about grids and all that. I produce J Dilla style. Added the time change effect but that insists on adding some random echo to it.

See other thread.

You've already discovered that this forum has a very helpful user base. You'll find us even more helpful if you try to avoid cross-posting, which is annoying, and mind your fucking language.
