Default Fader speed adjustment ?

Is it possible to slow the TCP fader so it's doesn't move so fast on mouse drag ? I'd much prefer something between the Ctrl+drag fine control and the drag course control.

This is really a big deal since I constantly use the fader. Thanks for any ideas.

Normalize the audio. Louder signal, more bang for your mouse drag, no?

Are you mousing it, or using a hardware interfasce to run the fader? Dead easy if it is just mouse. Hold down the Shift key & it usually widens the number of steps, which means you have to move the mouse more to get the same degree of change.

Why should a sluggish reaction of the GUI be "better" ?

What are you trying to accomplish ?

In fact ReaPack-> Midi Volume Control does this, but it takes Midi messages and not the track volume slider as an input. It could be combind with some hardware or another plugin that creates Midi from a Slider.

I'm just using a mouse and wanting the fader speed to be much slower. Somewhere between normal and when you hold the Ctrl key and drag. It's just way too fast and a simple drag is dropping me 5db instead of 1 DB or half a DB which is more what I would like when I begin dragging. I would like this to be my default and not have to hold any modifier keys and then maybe if I hold a modifier key have an option for 1 modifier to go even faster and 1 modifier to go even slower. That would be ideal.

In fact you seem not to be speaking about "speed" at all but about "distance factor".
Without ctrl the fader moves the same distance as the mouse cursor, which of course is the only sensible default. For tuning with ctrl the fader moves a smaller distance than the (now invisible) mouse cursor, which is a very decent mode as well.

Sorry if semantics are getting in the way of my communication. I want it slower.

Have you experimented with the possibilities afforded by
Options > Preferences > Appearance > Track Control Panels > Volume/pan faders >
Drop-down box on the right?

I haven't. I'm scared.
