Mine is a bit jumpy with this new way. the best working way here is
Code:
Widget Rotary3
	EncoderPlain b0 12 7f
	FB_Fader7Bit b0 12 7f
every 2 ticks it goes in increments of 3%. not having any luck with any other way unless i did something wrong. i switched to this which didnt work real well
Code:
Widget Rotary1
	Encoder b0 10 7f
	FB_Encoder b0 10 7f
originally i had FB_Fader7Bit

actually scratch that .it is a little better thew new way.gets a little jumpy when i get close to center pan but its not bad and i can get 1% increments. also my ring lights seem to work now.they never did before.although only one way.at center pan all the ring lights are lit counter clockwise and only work when i turn right from center pan. they just stay lit if i turn left from pan. is this normal ?

I'm using EuCon for my multi-channel mixing surface and I'm not sure the approach Geoff describes is ready for Eucon mapping just yet but I bet it works for MCU. Haven't experimented with it.

I can then open the window until I change focus to another application. If I do change focus, CSI seem to stop responding to any midi messages. Click OK on the CSI window in Preferences as per above and it works again. (I do need to close and reopen the CSI Edit Mode if it was still open.)

Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
Reaper v6.05 (same behaviour in both 32- and 64-bit Reaper)
Latest version of CSI
What happens if you move the main Reaper window, is the Edit Mode window hiding behind ?

Yup, I'm using VCA spill on my Artist Mixes in native EuCon mode

Ok, this will definitely be a dumb question, but which is the Alt button? I see the VCA spill is assigned to Alt+Select but I have no idea what's being considered the Alt button.

I haven't really been messing with the Eucon much lately (haven't been in mix mode) so I've been a little neglectful in trying to figure that stuff out.

The new buld is better for me.
When i made slow moves i got a change every fifth message.
Medium and high speed feel fine.

This new build feels the best to me so far. Getting off Center pan still requires a medium to fast turn to get off it. Slow turns don't do it.

Other than that, feels pretty darn good to me.

The Alt button is on the Novation Launchpad mini mk3

CSi allows extensive use of modifiers, it works somewhat without them, but you really should have a way of dedicating buttons to Shift/Option/Control/Alt, latching if possible.

Ah ok...good tip. I've got a Shift button on my X-Touch One, but can definitely repurpose my Steinberg CMC-QC to include the other modifiers. May not be around to test much the next few days as I'll be setting up a new PC. Ordered it before the virus hit the US so badly, but it just showed up. Honestly, would've held off had I known how dire things would be.

But once I'm fully back up and running I'll definitely experiment with VCASpill.

Great for me! No more dead clicks at the very fine end (or at least very few) Loving the plugin control now.

Pan seems much improved. After a bit of practice, moving it off centre is not difficult.

You can turn this on right in the action list. Just right click and choose show command ids..then just scroll to the right and all the command ids will be listed

Default Help setting up CSI

Hi all,
I've read the first couple of pages of this thread, the last couple of pages, and I've done a search on the forum, but can't seem to work out why I'm not having any luck getting CSI settings to stick.
I go into Prefs/Control Surfaces, click on ADD, and select CSI from the drop down list.
From the new Control Surfaces Settings window, I click on ADD (under Pages column), give it a name, and click OK.
I now see my "page" listed on the left hand side.
Click on ADD MIDI on the right hand side.
I give the surface a name (does it matter if this is the same/different to the name of the page?), select my MIDI device for both input and output, and click OK.
I can now see my surface in the column on the right hand side.
I click on OK again, and I'm back to the Prefs/Control Surfaces window, and I can see my new CSI control surface listed.
But all those settings I just set up have not stuck!
If I select my newly-created device, and click on EDIT, there is nothing in either the left or right hand columns.
If anyone can suggest why this is happening, I'd be most appreciative!

Also, is there a written setup guide anywhere?

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm... just noticed that under Properties, the CSI folder (Windows 10 Home) is Read Only.
I'm guessing that might be an issue?

Have you tried to set it up in admin mode/as admin?

Here´s the link to the installation procedure from the Wiki

Default Further set up help request please

Just noticed audio2u's note above and checked my set up - sadly no change for me.

So, my issues are:

1. When I launch the CSI Edit Mode action, the edit window is blank save for the .mst files I have used. clicking in the window spaces achieves zip

2. When I tick the monitor out, the Reascript console window continuously displays output as though a buffer is being flushed but this goes on ad infinitum until I unclick the monitor out option.

When I monitor the input, clicking a button/switch/rotary on my controllers correctly report the fact, so assuming they're connected appropriately.

I have the same symptoms on my lappy aswell.

The XTouch Mini does perform its functions correctly - start, stop, loop, solo, mute etc. interacting with a project.

I've read Malcolm's wiki but haven't got going as yet - apologies for the noob issues but I feel there are many "get going" Qu's still to be addressed. If this is one, i.e. my dumbfeckedness then hopefully someone else may benefit?

Thanks in advance

W10 v1909. Reaper 6.05 CSI beta version from a couple of days ago [prior to rotary accel work]

I tried a LICEcap image to demonstrate but am having difficulties getting the image size to meet the restrictions on uploading - first time licecap use.

Default Feature request: Feedback Processor -> FB_TriState

Hi guys,

i think it would be nice to have a FB_TriState, because my X-Touch LED can have the following states:

off: 00
on: 7f
blink: 01

Example: you can indicate that a channel is armed for recoding (blink), and when recoding is active (example: time selection auto punch) the LED is ON.

hat do you think?

Hi Geoff,

Any tips on how to get VCASpill working? It's just not happening here at the moment.

I've got 1 Artist Mix. I have some other MIDI/MCU Surfaces: CMC-QC2, MIDI Fighter Twister, Behringer X-Touch One.

Here's what I'd like to do:

1. Use the Function buttons on my CMC-QC to control the modifiers missing from the X-Touch One like Alt (F1), Option (F2), Control (F3).

2. Hold down Alt on the CMC-QC and Press "Assign Sel Y" on the Artist Mix channel for a VCA channel/group.

Expected Result: Toggle VCA spill

Actual Result: channel just gets selected. No spill occurs.

I'm probably missing something obvious.

Here's my CMC-QC code...

Code:
Widget F1
    Press 90 36 7f
    FB_TwoState 90 36 7f 90 36 00
WidgetEnd

Widget F2
    Press 90 37 7f
    FB_TwoState 90 37 7f 90 37 00
WidgetEnd

Widget F3
    Press 90 38 7f
    FB_TwoState 90 38 7f 90 38 00
WidgetEnd
And the .zon.
Code:
Zone "Home"
	OnTrackSelection	MapSelectedTrackSendsToWidgets
	IncludedZones
		"Buttons|"
	IncludedZonesEnd
ZoneEnd

Zone "Buttons|"
	F1 Alt
	F2 Option
	F3 Control
	Shift Shift
ZoneEnd
The EuCon folder is up to date and was left as-is.

Here's my CSI.ini
Code:
Page "Home" FollowMCP NoSynchPages NoScrollLink NoTrackColoring { 0 0 0 }
MidiSurface "X-Touch" 5 6 "X-Touch_One.mst" "X-Touch_One_SelectedTrack" UseZoneLink NoAutoMapSends NoAutoMapFX NoAutoMapFXMenu AutoMapFocusedFX
MidiSurface "MFTwister" 8 9 "MIDIFighterTwisterRotary.mst" "MIDIFighterTwisterRotary_MixPage" UseZoneLink AutoMapSends NoAutoMapFX NoAutoMapFXMenu AutoMapFocusedFX
EuConSurface "EuCon" 1 32 "EuCon" UseZoneLink 8 16 3
MidiSurface "CMC-QC" 12 13 "Stienberg_CMC-QC-2.mst" "CMC-QC-2" UseZoneLink AutoMapSends NoAutoMapFX NoAutoMapFXMenu NoAutoMapFocusedFX

From the download page -- you can also find it in MalcolmGs sig, I don't have room for it in mine -- hmmm... maybe I'll leave out EuCon and put that in instead, thanks for making me think about this

There are a lot of installation tips there.

If that doesn't get you going, come on back, I'm sure someone here will jump in

It's not too hard to implement on the Widget end (.mst), but how the heck do you tie Actions to it such that Action value setting makes sense in a general way ?

I certainly have thought about and continue to think about these things, thanks for the input.

First off, your F1, F2, and F3 need release messages as well, otherwise you will be able to engage, say Alt, but you can never un-Alt

So, step one, you need widgets that generate both press and release messages.

If you can get ones with lights, all the better, you can then see your latch state.

You are missing the overall VCA engage/disengage:

Code:
Zone "Buttons|"
        someButton ToggleVCAMode
Zone End
Once you do that you have described the workflow here exactly, except the modifiers are on the Launchpad.

Ok, still can't get the spill working, but I've not got the ToggleVCA working and my VCA's showing up.

Here's what I'm working with:
Code:
Widget F1
    Press 90 36 7f 90 36 00
    FB_TwoState 90 36 7f 90 36 00
WidgetEnd

Widget F2
    Press 90 37 7f 90 37 00
    FB_TwoState 90 37 7f 90 37 00
WidgetEnd

Widget F3
    Press 90 38 7f 90 38 00
    FB_TwoState 90 38 7f 90 38 00
WidgetEnd

Widget F4
    Press 90 39 7f 90 39 00
    FB_TwoState 90 39 7f 90 39 00
WidgetEnd
CMC-QC.zon:
Code:
Zone "Home"
	IncludedZones
		"Buttons|"
	IncludedZonesEnd
ZoneEnd

Zone "Buttons|"
	F1 Alt
	F2 Option
	F3 Control
	F4 ToggleVCAMode
	Shift Shift
ZoneEnd
Here's an excerpt of the Eucon.zon (haven't modified this at all)
Code:
Zone "Channel|"
	TrackNavigator
	Alt+Select| TrackToggleVCASpill
	FaderDB| TrackVolumeDB
	FaderTouch| TrackTouch
ZoneEnd
My steps are:

1. Click F4 enter ToggleVCAMode (VCA's appear on surface, other tracks are hidden)
2. Hold F1 on the CMC-QC which is defined as the Alt modifier
3. Click "Assign Sel Y" on the Eucon while still holding F1

Result: the VCA track gets selected but doesn't actually spill. Thanks as always for your help! I'll get this documented once I figure it out.

Thanks for the link, Wavetrans!
I removed my existing CSI control surface from Prefs/Controllers.
I then follow the instructions on the github link.
Everything went to plan until step 10. I do NOT see a list of controllers on the right hand side.
On the left hand side, I see a page called "HomePage".
If I manually add a MIDI surface on the right hand side, it once again refuses to stick.
I followed all the remaining steps, including running the CSI Edit Mode from the Reaper action list.
All faders on my (original, MIDI version) Mackie Control Universal are at 50% position (not unity, but somewhere around -10).
If I move them, they jump back tp their original position. Nothing displayed on the screen either.
Also, ReaScript window does NOT display upon any kindd of user input (fader move, button press, etc).
Am I missing any steps in setup?
Thanks in advance!

Default EuCon CSI - S3 & Transport

I am thrilled to find today that our Avid S3 and Euphonix Transport controllers both appear to be working to some extent in the EuCon extension to CSI. Most exciting is the list of 1000's of Reaper Actions that now appear in the EuControl app allowing for many more buttons to be able to be mapped to actions.

Also, I am really excited to see that EuCon is still allowing me to create console surface layouts, and then use EuCon to map buttons to recall these layouts!!! This isn't without some rough edges, but is very promising.

I have a question about the VCA Spill function. I can see that I need to edit the .zon file, but am not sure how I trigger a spill on the surface?

Default EuCon CSI - Architecture

Given that EuCon appears to not have any settings in its config page in Reaper (only in the CSI sub page), and that I can't locate an .mst file, do I assume that this approach for configuration is irrelevant due to all the button to function mapping is happening within EuCon itself?

I'm trying to get the MCP to follow my Trackbank changes.

I thought that adding a command to select track 1 would do the trick but "TrackUniqueSelect" doesn't seem to work outside of my "Channel|" Zone.

Is there a way to explicitly select track 1 of the current track bank?
Is there another (better) way of doing this?

It´s been a while since I done this, meaning it is quite stable, once it runs.

The HomePage is Geoffs page, you should remove it.

Then add your own page give it a name etc.

select the page and add surfaces by clicking "Add Midi" button at the bottom of the righthand window. This should open a dialog wherein your surfaces should be shown.

You have to double click the page, then CSI shows its existing surfaces.

If your surfaces are properly installed and recognized they should be found under Preferences/Audio/Midi Devices/ and they should be labeled as disabled in both Midi input and output windows.

By the way, I´m on windows 10 and I have no experience with the Mac install.
