Default Req: Divide track list/Pin track

Would be great to have the option to divide the track list so we can move a reference track or some important track of the project to the upper part, to keep them always visible when scrolling up and down in the project.

In Cubase it looks like this:

That would be really useful specially in large projects where you keep scrolling up and down a lot. You may want to have the lead vocal track always visible, or maybe a reference track, etc.

Repeatedly requested in various forms (eg as sticky tracks or as splits in the MIDI piano roll). Alas none have them mad it into Reaper as yet.

Too bad

This one and possibility to pin tracks to top/bottom are welcomed. +1
One of the showcases is listening to reference track, which is hard to do fast without pinnning/dividing TCP list.

Well, as you should know, the Issue Tracker has been deprecated.
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=165243
That's why if there are any interesting ideas/features to implement, you(we) should disscuss it.

but the sensation is that this forum section is to talk to the empty. Those who make final decisions don't interact. So it sounds a waste of time and effort : )

If no one(the devs) writes here anything, it doesn't mean they don't read.

I didn't say they don't read! but i don't say they do either.
If they interacted, the argumentation could be straight forward.
Also! much of request are not understood by most users ! different backgrounds and experiences and needs, so that Arguing some meters is like arguing with a stone.

My comment didn't mean I'm willing to discuss features. I was just poinnting out that IMHO the request is a duplicate and that there are some feature requests that are related somehow. I'm guilty of browsing through the forum to prove my point

So so handy feature! Please add! For example, I have chord track and need to always see it under ruler. Or I have send group which also I want to always have easy access.

I stopped using Cubase, and this is the only thing I really miss and can't find in Reaper.

Please!

Could be a track menu right-click item:

Don`t scroll this track
Position: top
Position: bottom

Ability to rearrange the position within top or bottom group.

Use case:

top: FX tracks
bottom: Busses

(also would like something like this in the Mixer too, indefinite "sidecars" with an option to assign keyboard shortcut to show/hide them)

Exactly, a right-click option would do it.

In the arrange view: Pin tracks to top/bottom
In the mixer: Pin tracks to left/Right

A bit like freezing rows in a spreadsheet. Good idea.

Pinnable-to-top tracks would allow for a lot of convenience when material in the project needs to be synced to some guide track.
For example, location audio track for film/video, MIDI or audio references for music, song structure formulas as MIDI items, etc.

I just opened the forum to post the same feature request. Then I see I'm not the only one.

A simple divider like LibreOffice Calc please. That would be A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

Thanks.

If it can be done it has been done for the Master track, there should be no reason it couldn't be done to any intended\selected track.
