Default Matching tone of vocal takes

Hi Everyone,

I'm vocalist and I record vocal tracks at home.
When I record I will sometimes take a break and than come back and pick up where I left off. The funny thing is some of my vocal tracks will not match the tone of ones that were recorded 10 minutes earlier even though nothing was changed.
Is this just how it is?
Have you ever run into this problem?
I sometimes can match things up by using eq, but this doesn't always work to well.

Thanks for any advice or insight on this subject

all the time. make sure you are the same distance, same mic, same preamp knob settings. if your voice is actually changing which happens with food and just day to day you can't help but do the takes all in the same session.

also, make sure your voice is warmed up for 30 mins or an hour first, that makes it more consistent.

What Coachz says.
And...the breaks you take.
How do they look like? (Drinking whiskey and smoking cigars?)
That may cause a slightly change in tone

Have you tried starting again from before you stopped? Working some stuff over again to "get back into it" before you start unrecorded parts.

Hi Everybody,

All good tips. I more or less was wondering if this happens to others and how they deal with it. I don't smoke, drink or eat on breaks, I don't touch any of the settings and I will sing at the same spot and volume as I left off before break. One thing is I'll work for maybe 45 min to hour before taking a break and maybe my voice and ears are just getting tired.
