Default Grouping like ableton?

Hello everyone! I'm thinking to move from ableton to reaper and I wanted to know if I can do something similar like groups. In ableton I create on the same track a group, I have the wet signal, and then I create another chain which is dry. So, is that possible in reaper? I don't want to do that with sends. Thanks!

In Reaper every plugin has a wet/dry mix knob in the plugin window, top right. By default it's set to 100% which means the whole signal goes through the given plugin. By setting the mix balance to lower values, you'll get different wet/dry ratios. You can set the wet/dry balance to a specific value, or automate it, it's labeled Wet in the automation parameter list.

You are describing bus sends. Don't get caught up in the names. Bus. Aux. Subgroup. Thingamabob... Busing lets you create submixes. Sounds like that was labeled "group" in Ableton (probably as in "subgroup") whereas it's labeled "bus" in Reaper.

Reaper has the most comprehensive routing available of any DAW. As well as the ability to change appearance/theme. Figure out the routing you wish to use. Dial up the control surface options and appearance to cater to your live performance needs.

A group in Ableton is like an effects rack, with macros and a chain selector.

There is no (simple) equivalent in Reaper unfortunately

So yeah, He will have to make do with parallel tracks and wet/dry knobs, though it's not as tidy or intuitive.

Sounds like its just a reaper folder track...
Which essentially is a buss group..
Like you have a track that is dry, and a track that is effected with the same clips on both tracks.

I believe Ableton calls their fx inserts their fx "chain".
You can view all inserted fx on a track (or track used as a bus) in the same window like that in Reaper too. It's just different terms.
