Default Reaper track view moves two faders at once

When in track view, I'll move Tom track volume up or down and it will move the master fader. Close the window and reopen, then it will switch and it will be the kick track fader that will move the master fader. Any others see this?

Could you please make a gif of that behavior in action?

You can use https://www.cockos.com/licecap/ for that.

Are both tracks selected? By default moving the fader of a selected track will also move the faders of other selected tracks (you can hold shift to override this).

Thanks. I will try to take a gif tonight or tomorrow. Justin, I don't believe so. I very rarely ever select multiple tracks at a time. I'll double check, but if you minimize or close the mixer it won't do it again when reopening. It will sometimes do it with another random track that wasn't having the problem.
