Default Default MIDI note names file setting ?

Did a quick search could not find a thread or response pertinent.

So I have a MIDI Note Names file that I use all the time. It aggregates the maps I use for the virtual drum instruments I have into a single MIDI Note Names file.

Whenever I create a MIDI item, I need to set my note names file to be used.

Is there a setting or location for a default MIDI note names file to always be used when a new MIDI item is created ?

not that I know of, but you could put an empty midi file on a track and load the names txt to that and save it all as a track template

That's a neat idea. I don't use Track Templates now so it slipped my mind. I will try it!

Worked. Made a track, inserted a MIDI item, doubleclicked on the MIDI item and set the Names File. Saved as a Track Template.

Picked from right mouse menu, Templates > mytemplatename. New track inserted. Added a MIDI item, double clicked on it. Note names matched the values from my preferred default MIDI Note Names file.

Thank yoU!

kewl.... so now that you see how handy they can be, you likely will imagine other ones you can create....

did ya know that if you happen to have a dual monitor set up, you can open the track templates folder on the other monitor and just drag and drop any of them onto the reaper project?
