A Warning About Tascam
As an owner of a Tascam FW-1082 I've been awaiting the development of working Windows 7 drivers (x64 in my case).
Imagine my surprise when I found this:

Now, the FW-1082 is still a "current" product on their website, and you can still buy it off the shelf in my neck of the woods, so having it declared "legacy" seems dodgy at best.
To be clear, I have no issue with the hardware - it works fine with XP. I'll just have to continue dual-booting to use it. However, I feel it only right to warn others that buying a Tascam product is clearly a gamble if you intend to keep it for a while.

Petersko, have you tried installing drivers for the older OSes in Windows 7?
My EMU0404 USB works fine in Windows 7 x64, although the drivers I installed were only officially for XP/Vista.

Have you tried ASIO4ALL? I have an original US-122, which doesn't have any official Vista 64 drivers, but it works fine and dandy.

somehow we need a central database for searching these kind of issues.
Imagine how much smoother it all would be had motu's driver nuttiness been more widely known
Thanks for the heads up

Thanks for the advice though - glad that driver works for you.

I had no sound until I rolled back to tke Legeacy Driver. Still have to shut the thing off first before I shut down the computer or a BSOD.
Can"t belive they are not going to support it, Ed

works perfectly for audio under win7x64. Dont forget to upgrade the firmware.
works in MCU sonar mode, with klinke's plugin for remote.
