Default Q: Possible to smooth looping?

Is it possible to make seek/looping of video smoother? If I make a time selection and enable loop playback, it's pretty 'chunky' at the start of the each playback repetition.
Yes, I have a few VFX running, but they seem to look good once playback has 'stabilised'.

Seek and playback got optimized in the dev versions of Reaper. It was announced that this and many other video optimizations will be integrated in the 5.97 official release. Of course without guarantee.

But its also not recommended to use dev versions for working as such project could be unable to get loaded in official versions.

Ah, okay. Hm, there were discussions about proxy video rendering for previews. But I have no idea if this will be considered in the near future.
