razor edit custom actiion help

Hey -
I feel like this is probably really easy but I'm having a brain moment.
How can I create a custom action to essentially act like an eraser tool with razor edit:
i.e.
I'd like to assign a mouse modifier to left drag on a media item to select a razor edit, and then delete what's in the selection when I release the mouse. So it's ONE action.

Afaik, that requires a script, if possible. Here's the Razor Edit Scripts topic. There are already some delete/remove scripts in there, maybe you could ask more about them there?
