Default Need Advice, Portable Hard Drives, Optimizing PC

Hello-

I am running Reaper on a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 with Windows 10 and everything off a small portable HD.

BFD2, Kontakt, and Waves diamond bundle.

Things are starting to get REAL slow.

I am assuming I need to max out my RAM and get my libraries on a separate external drive.

Looking for advice on the best approach with this set up.

Also, I travel extensively with this set-up and I would be looking for small, tough, dependable drives.

Any help is appreciated!
