Note: this isn't a native Linux version (currently) on the site. It's a slightly modified Windows version that still requires Wine (etc.)

They provide this link for info about the native Linux version they're working on:

Funnily enough I downloaded the one under Linux and ran it through LinVSt and it worked. The normal version didn't work and only showed a black screen.

This one worked right away.

I think that the Linux version doesn't seem to depend on the (problematic) d2d1 judging from the terminal output.
