The procrastination obsession with A.I. art paid off! I finally figured things out instead of just making the occasional awesome frame, I made a whole bunch of coherent frames!
Heres a load of em set to a track by ZeeKat. Its a great track too. Enjoy!

Its worse if you build the walls that block your way all by yourself. At least then you have a wall all to yourself to smack your head against tho.
You wanna set a deadline for doing something by? Use the thread!
Have you tried Sai'ke's SEQS plugin. I haven't yet but all his stuff is amazing.
I finally got round to checking out some scripts, Sai'ke's thread, and some of the other effects in that section of the forum.
I set up some toolbar icons for the first time, some of these scripts are going to save me much time.
Here's the ones that have really piqued my interest, and will be the source of much procrastination while also making a racket. The racket might be considered music and/or get released
Once again another reason for not doing another mix. I shall definitely integrate that script. Play with it. And then create a color theme. And rearrange the icons. For the workflow. And...
I usually have random, disparate samples that I hand add stretch markers too and then, by hand, lock everything together, stretching and moving items in time with each other. Takes much time and many clicks.
That 'item modifiers' script and the one that enables quantizing anything to anything else is going to save me much time and back/hand ache. Plus randomised drums and shuffling samples around randomly for inspiration, all stuff I do by hand too, all done automatically now.
Time to realize my long planned score for some car chase scene I'll nick from archive org.
Mandatory ingredients:
- car chase, 60s to 70s movie
- wah guitar
- clavinet (VST)
that's surely way harder than it looks in my head
Deadline end of september, I'll start workin on it when I stop melting.
I already have music for both opening and end credits sequence
it'll complete the "Lorem Ipsum soundtrack" trilogy
Has this got any further?
I am currently suffering with a severe case of procrastination. I have a video completed that just needs audio adding to it. I have two more that just need rendering and audio. I have commissioned a video for a track I havent finished yet, and pretty much already paid for said video. I've kinda done naff all since May tho.
Something is going to have to give soon, but the dam wall is holding firm and doing my chuffing head in (or it would be if I wasnt only too aware that the frustration just compounds the problem so I dont give into it, double edged sword).
Anyway, @foxAsteria. I am also considering live streams instead of just rehearsing to no one. There is nothing to lose by doing it, and could potentially be much fun, and may even produce some gains!
Damn. This thread is turning into a place where there are even more things to procrastinate! Like my backlog on these video posts...
ButtFML
I was gonna make music last nite but instead bought more beer after already drunk, blacked out and puked all over everything and woke up in the guest bed! That's not even quality procrastinating, it's just depressing and disgusting.
I did make some progress on my computer problems though. I ended up replacing every single component trying to get rid of random freezing, so I bought a rackmount case and put all the old parts into a new roving recording station, which miraculously don't seem to be having any of the issues they were when I started replacing parts...
Anyways, so that makes 2 fully decked out recording rigs that I'm not recording anything on. An absurd amount of money if I think about it, which I try hard not to. Maybe I just need to give in and find me a nice wife who tells me what to do.

Did I really just order a $600 gfx card for that massive, unplayed collection of games? Maybe I just need to give in and find me a nice wife who tells me what to do.

Gfx card will help with the live streams/video editing of your rehearsals/practice sessions
I think you pretty much nailed it, Zeek! For the first 30 seconds, I completely forgot you'd replaced the soundtrack.
My only critique is that there's something about when the snare comes in that throws off the feel a bit, but to me the intro works perfectly and the end captures the chaos.
Have you ever tried quantizing the drums to the groove of the bass? The bass funk is spot-on, but sometimes the drums are counteracting it.
Anyways, great job! I think you could carve out a niche here!
My timing may be questionable and I made the situation worse humanizing the drums. Tried to reference how should it sound to some 70s movie themes from youtube - but I can't even tell what I'm hearing there (how did they do drums that are dead and big sounding at the same time?)

Hmm I think they were a little spoiled with analog gear back in the 70s, but I'm a huge fan of that drum sound and also find it hard to achieve. From my research they were often using tea towels over the drumheads. I'm assuming you're doing drums ITB, so that doesn't help much...
There's gotta be a dead fish drum pack somewhere out there...compressing the drum buss with something fast and colored like 1176 helps too. Cumulative tape distortion too. Y'know, maybe it's actually all the tape noise in the background that makes things sound all warm and fuzzy.
Anything come of it? I don't have money but with a similar goal cloistered myself up in the mountains with all my dusty gear the last week or so. Set up mics all over this big, reverb house and proceeded to watch a whole bunch of music docs...
Managed to record a bit of noodling and wrioe one new song that I keep trying to record but still can't quite play. Anyways the idea was, as ever, to finish something. Haven't set a deadline yet because I can't take any more disappointment this year. But I included my bossy sister in the project so now there's pressure in the usual mix of pot and procrastination.

Hear me yours and I'll hear you mine...
I'm booked for the beginning of April, 2 days, and then 2 more days in the beginning of March. The booking comes with a producer/engineer/bass player/drummer combo. Its the same studio as in this video -
Couple of live rooms, real plate reverb, tons of drum kits and amps/speakers. A bunch of vintage synths and tape delay machines. A few reel to reel tape machines, and some pianos. I'm in the process at the moment of getting a live rig together to take in for performances.
Basically, I wont be in charge of this project getting finished. Thats gonna be someone else's job
I did this. Coz I got my old downtunobanez touched up a bit recently and now it plays like a buttered lighting or something.
As a side effect I already have a bit of an intermission-like leftover track and a spare bass riff to use wherever. Imma do a downtuned "album" (EP?) then. End of february maybe.

Hope I'm not jumping the gun but after 2 years of improvisation, setup tweaking and not recording anything I'm finally waist-deep in a new track. With any luck I should finish it pretty soon and I'll post it here.
Got on a some new meds for "motivation" and seems like it's working. Nice to be productive again...

Whatever happens, however this turns out, just being at this point is very cool to hear about. All the best with the track!
At long last, I finally did a thing...not finished but I always like to share before I'm finished That way I can keep working on it...FOREVER BWAHAHAH!!
I often find myself procrastinating, especially when tasks seem daunting, or I'm just feeling low on energy. A nifty trick I've picked up is to break down tasks into smaller, manageable parts. It's less overwhelming and helps keep the ball rolling.
I also found that using employee productivity measurement tools from EmpMonitor can be really beneficial. Believe it or not, I've started using them (originally meant for work) in my personal life to avoid procrastination. It has helped me keep track of tasks and pushed me to be more productive, given how it records progress. Seeing the progress I've made can be a huge motivator, helps me stay on track, and relieves a bit of that procrastination stress.
