Weird swing behaviour when recording with midi keyboard

I am trying to apply a positive swing to my recorded midi notes with a midi keyboard. I have tried this on two different pcs with different midi keyboards and with different drum plugins. I stil get the same thing as the video below. I dont think that this is a normal swing behaviour.

can you clarify what the problem is? it's not apparent (to me, at least) from the video

A lot of notes are moving backwards when I apply a positive value swing. I am no swing expert but this looks so weird.

it depends on the notes original, pre-quantized position - they will move to the nearest appropriate position depending on what criteria you have set. This can be either forwards or backwards.

That really helped. So in order to swing properly I have to quantize and then glue the item so it forgets its initial notes position. Then swing works ok. Thank you.
