Horiz/Vertical Splitter in Track and Midi editors
Request:
Add a horizontal and vertical splitter tool that the user can drag out to separate the window in left/right or upper/lower, each of thew new parts have theirseparate scrollbars.
(reference: In Visual Studio and others this is used to display two different portions of the same source file at the same time).
* Benefit
1. In huge projects you often group tracks by type. For example all fx buses can be at the end. With a splitter you can show both the track(s) you are working on and their splitter. Another case is orchestral where it is easier to directly compare two tracks that might have over a page of other tracks between them.
2. You can show beginning/end and middle of the same song at the same time for easier copy/paste/referencing.
3. Same thing in the MIDI editor. Especially important is the vertical splitter, where you can have the lower view at the octave of keyswitches and the upper for the actual midi data you are working with.
* Reason
Much more efficient workflow (see above).
* Implementation Suggestion
A draggable splitter icon, an example from Visual Studio is the the red box in Splitter1.png
