Default Zoom out project annoyance

Hi,

When selecting CTRL+PGDN to zoom out project, Reaper zooms out beyond the final item, which leaves blank space in the arrange window on the right-hand side.

I've tried changing the project length in the project settings so that it matches the end of the last item, but the space still remains.

Any ideas? It's almost certainly something I'm doing wrong.

I am pretty sure that this is the way it is with Reaper. I have tried several custom actions to get a proper zoom out (to fit screen) and nothing seems to work well.

hi nofish, yes I have tried that action and a couple variants of it, doesn't work for me. I seem to only get some of the tracks but not the entire project.

I take it back, I haven't tried this one, and it actually works. But it does leave a little space at the end but its better than nothing.

THANKS!

I'm using this one:

Zoom to start and end marker
  • This script zooms in between the boundaries of the start and end marker
  • Again, I use this in conjunction with "X-Raym_Insert or update start and end marker from time selection.lua" to create the project boundaries"
  • To undo the zoom, use "View: Restore previous zoom level

Thanks everybody. I've got pretty close by using a custom action, but there's always a bit of blank space to the right. I'm interested why the standard action doesn't zoom out horizontally and fit the items to the window as expected? Perhaps one of the devs could advise?

@_Stevie_ I've never used scripts before, and have found the X-Raym script for setting the boundaries, but how do I zoom between the markers?

Hey Bod,

that's a script that is available in my repository via Reapack. Just follow the link in my signature and
Add the link to Reapack.
