Default Strange sound artefacts during recording

I recorded something in the last few days (stereo Schoeps - Forssell pream and AD - RME AES = as always) and at some moments was really surprised (and somehow betrayed) by strange sound artefacts (both happened during cca 10 minutes recording)

1) sudden 10 seconds of distorted audio www.savitastudio.com/mastering/reap1.wav

2) sudden strange "strike" in the right channel (nothing like this happened physically) www.savitastudio.com/mastering/reap2.mp3

I wonder if this is a Reaper problem ?

This sounds like it could be a clocking problem. Are you using the internal clock of your RME? Can you try another audio interface and see if the problem is still there?
